Born amidst the lush fields of Waialua Sugar Plantation, I am the youngest of eight siblings, my early years shaped by the industrious spirit of my father, a skilled tailor. My childhood transitioned to the vibrant energy of downtown Honolulu, where my academic journey unfolded. I flourished at The University of Hawai'i, earning a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. Post-graduation, love beckoned me to the mainland, often referred to as 'the States' by locals, where I married a Navy-trained laboratory technician. Our life was a tapestry of various states, enriching our family tapestry that grew to include five children. This period was an enlightening mosaic of new cultures, places, and experiences.
Tragedy struck with my husband's passing, prompting a deep introspection about my health. A recommended angiogram led to an extraordinary out-of-body experience, immersing me in an indescribable peace. This moment was the catalyst for my spiritual and intellectual quest for understanding. I returned to Hawai'i, seeking further enlightenment through a Master of Public Health Planning at my alma mater. This journey of self-discovery and search for answers is encapsulated in my book, "It's My Choice," a reflection of my journey through grief, growth, and the quest for understanding the profound questions of life.
